Ind notes concern at rocket launch by N Korea
"India notes with serious concern the attempted launch of a rocket by the Democratic People`s Republic of Korea (DPRK) which violates United Nations Security Council Resolution 1874 and adversely impacts peace and stability in the Korean peninsula. India calls on DPRK not to undertake actions in violation of UNSC Resolutions," an official spokesperson in the Ministry of External Affairs here said.
North Korea launched its third long-range rocket but acknowledged failure to place a satellite in orbit with debris of the three-stage rocket dropping into the sea shortly after takeoff. The official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said, "the earth observation satellite failed to enter its preset orbit" adding that technicians and experts were looking into the cause of the failure.
