New Delhi: Finance Minister P Chidambaram on Thursday said agencies like Income Tax Department and Enforcement Directorate will start probing IPL spot-fixing scandal once police come up with "concrete evidence".

"There is a police case. Police are investigating the matter. Delhi police and Mumbai police are investigating. When the investigation reaches a particular stage and when a concrete evidence is available, other agencies will step in.

"The Income Tax Department, the ED will step in at the appropriate stage. I don't know whether the stage has arrived or not," Chidambaram said while replying to query on IPL spot fixing scandal.

The IPL spot-fixing scandal is currently being probed by Delhi Police and Mumbai Police.

The scandal came to light after the sensational arrest of Indian paceman S Sreesanth and two of his Rajasthan Royals team-mates on charges of spot-fixing. The police later arrested several bookies and Bollywood actor Vindoo Dara Singh.

Meanwhile, sources said officials in the I-T Department as well as in ED have started preliminary work and are seized of the matter.

While the ED will look into the money laundering and overseas aspect of the IPL spot-fixing scandal, the I-T department will oversee financial transactions, including routing of funds.
