Mumbai: After tasting success as a producer in Punjabi films, actor Jimmy Shergill would try his hands on producing Bollywood movies.

Even though Jimmy started his acting career in Hindi films with `Machis` in 1996, he turned producer with a Punjabi film `Dharti` only in 2011.

His maiden film made with a budget of Rs 4.2 crore, grossed Rs 7.5 crore at the box office. `Dharti` released on April 22 this year, beating records of Hindi film, `Dum Maro Dum` and Telugu film, `Mr Perfect` in Punjab and overseas.

And now he aspires to try his luck in B-town.

"I have got seven-eight scripts in hand and we would zero down on one-two. There are comedy, thriller, light-hearted kind of scripts. I want to make entertaining films for the audience...not documentary types," Jimmy told PTI in an interview.

The films will be made under the banner of Jimmy Shergill Productions.

"Once we lock the script we would decide on the actors.

Even if big actors are required I would approach them and also wait to get their dates, provided they fit the bill. I don`t know how much time all this will take," he said.

Jimmy started his acting career in Punjabi films with `Yaaran Naal Baharan` (2005). The actor will be seen in a Hindi film `Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster` alongside Randeep Hooda and Mahie Gill.

About his character, Jimmy said, "I play Saheb who can go do anything to keep his glory...royalty intact. He will not hesitate not to go to any extent even in a bad way."

Jimmy has earlier played grey characters in films like `Eklavya` (2007), `Tanu Weds Manu` and `Game` (2011). "I feel people relate to grey characters...as everyone in some or the other manner have shades of grey," he said.

Directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia, `Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster` releases this Friday.
