Kolkata: Amitabh Bachchan will inaugurate the Kolkata International Film Festival in November where a host of Bollywood personalities including Shahrukh Khan, Jaya Bachchan, Abhishek and Aishwarya are also expected to be present.
"I am very happy and delighted to share with you all, that Shri Amitabh Bachchan ji, a great legend, has kindly accepted our invitation to inaugurate the 19th Kolkata International Film Festival to be held on 10th November, 2013," West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today said.
She wrote on Facebook that Big B is making efforts to bring along with him his family including wife Jaya, son Abhishek and daughter-in-law Aishwarya to the event.
Describing Bachchan as a phenomenon, she said his iconic personality and his august presence in the film festival once again, will make the occasion spectacular and magnificent.
When asked about whether the state's brand ambassador and actor Shahrukh Khan would also attend the carnival, highly-placed government sources said he is also expected.
