The Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Bhubaneswar has frozen Rs 1.45 crore of Nitin Malik, Director of M/s Right Start Business Pvt. Ltd in connection with a case pertaining to illegal digital lending.

The case was registered by EOW based on the complaint filed by one Sakti Prasad Dash over alleged harassment/extortion/mental torture by recovery agents of the digital loan app “Kredit Gold” by sending humiliating, abusive messages and morphed photographs.

Preliminary investigation reveals that the accused Nitin Malik was the director of M/s Good Start Business Pvt. Ltd. and M/s Right Start Business Pvt. Ltd which were not registered as NBFC with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

“The companies are illegally operating as digital lender. It is suspected that this international gang is running at least 10 such illegal loan apps. The accused Nitin Malik became the Director of M/s Good Start Business Pvt. Ltd. and M/s Right Start Business Pvt. Ltd. at the instance of some Chinese mastermind/bosses,” EOW said in a release.

The accused Nitin Malik, who was arrested on July 13 this year , was in regular contact with at least three Chinese nationals and used to get a huge salary for this job.

Apart from Malik, another accused, Neerav Gupta was also arrested in the case and he is now in judicial custody.
