Yajna begins at Gadakhuntunia

Bhubaneswar: After the identification of Sudarshan daru, the banajaga yatra team today began the yajna leading to felling of the neem tree from which the idol of lord Sudarshan will be carved out.

As per the ritual, a suryapuja and the baruna rite will also be conducted ahead of the Yajna. The yajna will continue till tomorrow when purna aahuti will mark its conclusion. Then the felling of the neem tree which has been chosen to be the daru of lord Sudarshan will commence.

The servitors, including the Daitapati, Bidyapati, and Biswabasu will observe a complete fast during the yajna. Yesterday, the Bhumipuja and cleansing rituals were conducted.
