Puri: Giving a fresh twist to the ‘three’ kidnapped girls of Delang area in the district, reports said that five girls and a woman arrived here today after they were rescued from Juanpur area of Uttar Pradesh a few days ago.

On the basis of a complaint filed by the families of three girls, a special team of Puri police went to UP last Saturday to rescue them. But the team returned today with five girls, a woman and the dance teacher, who is believed to be the mastermind of this whole incident.

Prangya Jena, one of the kidnapped girls, said after reaching here that she was forced to perform obscene dance and kept in captive without food for a few days. She also claimed that she was beaten up whenever she asked for food.

Itishri Pradhan, another rescued girl, too had the same story to tell when mediapersons asked what happened to them while staying there.

Meanwhile, additional superintendent of police Banabihari Sahu said, “The woman, identified as Kajal, who came along with the girls, is an Odia but married in UP and had taken girls from here to perform there many times the past.” But the real reason behind this is yet to be ascertained, he added.

Reports reaching here said that police are planning to take remand of the two persons (Kajal and Bhima), who were arrested in this case.
