Rourkela: The death toll in the explosion at the gas station here on Saturday rose to three with the recovery of a charred body from the premises on Sunday, police said.

The condition of two more injured in the incident was still serious at the hospital and investigations are on to find the cause of the explosion that caused the fire, the police said.

Congress MLA from Rajgangpur Gregory Minz and leaders of BJD and CITU staged demonstration before Brahmanitarang police station demanding compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the kin of the dead men and employment to one of their family members.

The also demanded strict maintenance of total safety norms in the factory.

Police arrangements have been made to avoid any untoward incident, the sources added.
