Keonjhar: Police on Friday claimed to have arrested seven mine mafias and have recovered two trucks and a car from them here.

These mafias have been allegedly smuggling iron and manganese ores by mining them from Joda, Mahulguda, Barbil and Rugudi area. The mafias used to smuggle these ores to Chadheibol area which were again smuggled to Haldia Port by other mafias, police informed.

All the seven mafias have been forwarded to court after their arrest. While three of the seven mafias hail from Mayurbhanj, the rest four belong to Chadheibhol area.
