Nine persons killed in road accident in state

Bhubaneswar: At least nine persons, including seven members of two marriage parties, were killed in separate road accidents in the state on Friday, police said.

Five persons of a marriage party were killed when the jeep in which they were travelling collided with a truck near Belhpahara in Jharsuguda district.

In another incident in Mayurbhanj district, two members of a marriage party were killed and seven others injured when the van in which they were travelling rammed against a truck near Bangiriposhi on NH-6.

Two motorcyclists were killed near Khurda on NH-5 when their bike met with an accident. The duo was shifted to the hospital in a serious condition and were declared dead, police said.
