Ghaziabad: Lokmanch president Amar Singh has called on Rashtriya Lok Dal chief Ajit Singh chief Ajit Singh to join hands and press for the demands of separate statehood to Harit Pradesh and Poorvanchal.

"Small states in the west (Harit Pradesh) and the east (Poorvanchal) of Uttar Pradesh will come up soon, if Ajit Singh joins us. I invite him to join hands for the betterment of people in these two regions," he said last evening, while attending a sports event at a inter-college here. The former Samajwadi Party leader was accompanied by expelled SP MP Jayaprada.

He stressed on formation of smaller states out of Uttar Pradesh, saying that it would provide better governance and would help in the development of the regions.

Singh, who recently completed his 450km `yatra` for trifurcation of the state, said he would soon take up a march to Chandoli from Balia for the creation of Poorvanchal.

Singh was also critical of Azam Khan rejoining the Samajwadi party, saying both Khan and SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav have no alternate and people will not accept them.
