Man gets life term for murdering brother

Additional Sessions Judge, Rourkela, Pramod Kumar Mohapatra found Pitambar Aditya (45) guilty of murdering Shyamlal Aditya (48), on the night of January 5, 2010.

The judge has examined 15 witnessses and considered other circumstantial evidences before pronouncing his verdict.

According to prosecution, Shyamlal and Pitambar, both employed in Rourkela Steel Plant, stayed in Kainthbasa village under Tangarpalli police station on the outskirts of the city and had bitter relation over properties.

Besides, Pitambar had suspected that his elder brother practised witch-craft as a result of which he and his family members were suffering from illness.

Pitambar stabbed Shyamlal to death while the latter was returning home from the plant after completing his late evening duty.
