The International Court of Justice (ICJ) today stayed former Indian Naval Officer Kulbhushan Jadhav's execution until further notice.

Announcing its verdict on India’s appeal seeking revocation of the death sentence awarded by a Pakistani military court to alleged spy Kulbhushan Jadhav, ICJ stated that links existed between rights claimed by India and the provisional measures sought.

ICJ also directed Pakistan to ensure that Jadhav is not executed before the final decision and accepted India's demand for Consular access to Jadhav.

Meanwhile, Judge Ronny Abraham, President of the court, told Pakistan to inform it of all the measures it has taken to implement the order.
