Dehra Dun: A 65-year-old female elephant was found dead at Dhikala range of Jim Corbett National park , an official said here on Sunday.

The carcass of the pachyderm was noticed by forest guards during patrolling yesterday, park`s Deputy Director C K Kavidayal said.

The preliminary examination has revealed that the animal died of natural reasons, he said, adding that a postmortem is being conducted to ascertain the exact cause of its death.
