‘All Eyes On Rafah’ is a popular hashtag that has flooded the social media since Tuesday, referring to the ongoing genocide in Rafah. Many people from across the world came out in support of Palestinians residing in the southern Gaza city of Rafah where Israel conducted a massive ground operation. Israeli airstrikes on Sunday caused a fire in an encampment located over the southern Gaza City of Rafah where 1.4 million Palestinians were taking shelter. The strike reportedly killed at least 45 people and left hundreds of civilians with burn wounds. The Israeli military said it was targeting a Hamas installation and killed two senior Hamas militants. The strike broke out days after the United Nations International Court of Justice, ordered the Israeli military to end its operation in Rafah. The attack triggered global outrage against Israel, with many people taking to social media to post against the deadly attack. The situation in Rafah prompted even the most reticent Indian celebs to take a stand for Palestine. Famous Bollywood actresses like Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Varun Dhawan, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Madhuri Dixit and cricketer Rohit Sharma’s wife Ritika Sajdeh shared stories and posts on their Instagram handles with the hashtag #AllEyesOnRafah. However, some of them had to delete the posts after severe criticism by a section of social media users for standing up in support of Palestine, which was followed by Boycott Bollywod trend on X(Twitter).
