The incident occurred late Wednesday night while Dai along with his wife and two sons was asleep at his home. Meanwhile, a mob stormed into their house and assaulted the whole family.

The family members spotted her blood-soaked body and immediately informed the police about the incident. 

What is shocking is that she was forced to adopt the woods as her home after villagers drove her away from the village suspecting her to be a witch, practices sorcery. She has been living in a shack for over a quarter century now.
