The cold wave conditions in Odisha is likely to prevail for the next 48 hours. This information was shared by the Regional Meteorological department on Wednesday.
Plummeting mercury across the state is affecting daily lives of people, especially in the interior areas. A local of Lamtaput in Koraput, Odisha expressed how locals are facing difficulties in the winter conditions.
Odisha is starting to experience severe cold wave as mercury has plummeted further in the state. Daringbadi, the Kashmir of Odisha, was the coldest with night temperature dropping in the area to 6.5 degree Celsius. While eight places recorded temperature below 10 degrees, twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar shivered at 12 degrees and 12.2 degrees, respectively.
Dense fog enveloped Karanjia in Mayurbhanj on Tuesday. The heavy fog has reportedly affected the movement of people in the area while the state is slowly and gradually bracing itself for the full impact of winter and its dropping temperature.
