The cold wave conditions in Odisha is likely to prevail for the next 48 hours. This information was shared by the Regional Meteorological department on Wednesday. Owing to the cold dry wind entering the state, Odisha witnessed severe cold for three to four consecutive days. However, the IMD also informed that after 48 hours the intensity of the cold wind will weaken and the night temperatures will rise.
According to a bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department, Sambalpur emerged as the hottest place in the State with mercury reaching up to 44.2 degrees Celsius today.
As per the IMD, the southwest monsoon has further advanced into some more parts of South Arabian Sea and Maldives area, some parts of Lakshadweep area, entire Comorin area, some more parts of South Bay of Bengal and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal today.
