Panic gripped the residents of low-lying areas in Balasore district after Jalaka River breached the danger mark. Villagers fear yet another flood as the river has swelled above 6.29 metre against the danger mark of 5.50 metre.
In Nuapada district, a bridge over Jonk river collapsed following heavy downpour disrupting vehicular communication between Odisha and Chhattisgarh.
A team led by Malkangiri additional collector visited low-lying areas of the district to review the situation.
