Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) reportedly admitted the proposal filed by OHPC on July 28 requesting to increase its average power generation tariff to 95.36 paise per unit from the existing 89.28 paise per unit. The hearing is scheduled to begin on October 26.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) members undertook a march up to the Odisha Assembly in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday protesting the hike in electricity tariff in the State.
The week-long protest will begin tomorrow and end on July 20. During the period, BJP worker will stage protest in front of all electricity offices across the State.
