The first patient who received post-COVID ECMO treatment at the SCB Hospital in Cuttack died on Saturday night

The Odisha Government has left no stone unturned to initiate the ECMO (Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation ) treatment in the State at the earliest, Director of Medical Education & Training (DMET) , CBK Mohanty said on Monday.

In a major development, AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) Bhubaneswar will procure two ECMO (Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation) machines for the treatment of critical Covid-19 patients in the state.

In the intense fight against the Covid pandemic, one of the most vital life-saving asset that has come to the rescue of people is ECMO - Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation machine.
