The vacillating trend of the daily Covid cases in Odisha for the past several days saw a big drop on Tuesday with the State recording 2,640 positives, its record low in over last two months. The new cases have taken the State's cumulative virus count tally to 9,06,429.

Despite increase in testing, the decline in daily Covid-19 infections continues in Odisha, as the state detected 8313 fresh cases in the last 24 hours. The virus has however claimed the lives of 35 more persons during the period. Odisha’s TPR has further dropped to 13.5 per cent.

Odisha recorded 11,623 fresh positive cases in the past 24 hours. Khordha recorded the highest 2021 fresh Covid-19 infections, followed by Cuttack with 998 cases.

Though a decline in new COVID19 infections is being observed overall, there are many states, including Odisha where the trends are worrying.
