Bhubaneswar: Total number of recovered cases of Covid-19 climbed to 2594 in Odisha with 120 more recoveries on Saturday.

Ganjam district reported the highest 33 number of recovered cases followed by Gajapati at 18 and Sonepur reporting 13 recoveries, State Health and Family Welfare department informed.

Earlier today, the government informed that as many as 225 SARS-nCoV cases were reported from various districts of the State. This is for the first time that the state has reported a single-day spike of over 200 positive cases.

While the overall tally of infection cases now remain at 3723, active cases have come down to 1116 after 120 recoveries. Of the new COVID-19 positive cases, 196 cases were reported from quarantine centres and 19 were local contact cases.

Ganjam district still remains the district with most infection cases at 678 and most recoveries at 578. Active cases in the southern district have now dropped to 95 after it reported 33 recoveries today.

Following few days of continuous surge in cases, now Khurda district has surpassed Jajpur to become the second-most affected Covid-19 district in the State. It has 334 positive cases in total with 213 recoveries and 115 active cases.

The State has so far registered 10 cases of death from the viral disease which has infected more than 3 lakh people and killed 8,884 across the country.
