Aishwarya Rai Bachchan came into limelight after winning the Miss World title in 1994. She debuted in the movie business with Mani Ratnam-directed biopic in Tamil-Iruvar alongside superstar Mohanlal. She received critical acclaim for this film. She made her debut in Bollywood with Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya opposite Bobby Deol. Aishwarya received the Best Female Debutante Award for this movie.
Over the years she made a mark in the Indian film industry with back to back hit flicks like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Devdas, and Mohabbatein, Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai, Guru, and more. She became the first Indian actor to serve as a jury at the Cannes Film Festival. She debuted in Western cinema with Bride and Prejudice in 2004 directed by Gurinder Chaddha.
The actress is the first Indian female to have her wax statue in Madame Tussaud’s wax museum. Some of her popular movies include Taal (1999), Josh (2000), Devdas (2002), Dhoom 2 (2006), Jodhaa Akbar (2008), Raavan (2010), and many more.
