After a brief gap, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is all geared up to set the silver screen on fire once again with her upcoming project, Ponniyin Selvan.
Directed by Mani Ratnam, Ponniyin Selvan (PS-1) is expected to hit theatres in 2022.
The Bollywood diva on Tuesday shared the first poster of the movie on her Instagram handle. Taking to the social media platform, the former Miss World wrote, “The Golden Era comes to Life. Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan. PS1 (sic)."

Ponniyin Selvan is based on iconic writer Kalki Krishnamurthy’s historical fiction novel. The movie will be released in two parts.
The film stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Vikram, Trisha, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Lal, Sarath Kumar, Jayaram, Vikram Prabhu, Prabhu, Ashwin Kakumanu, Kishore and Aishwarya Lekshmi among others, sources said.
The film is jointly produced by Mani Ratnam’s banner Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions.
Ponniyin Selvan is based on Arulmozhi Varman and the Chola dynasty. The music of the film is composed by legendary composer AR Rahman.
