Villagers attack policemen, three injured

Acting on specific information that some of the villagers of RSC-10 in Chitrakonda were involved in ganja trade, a police team raided the village. However, scores of people resisted entry of policemen and pelted stones at them.

In the incident, three policemen—Chitrakonda IIC Alekh Garidia, SOG jawan Seemanchal Beuri and Constable Narsingh Beuri sustained injuries. The injured were admitted to Chitrakonda hospital and later IIC was shifted to Visakhapatnam as his condition turned grave. 

However, police was able to seize 90 sacks of contraband.

Meanwhile, three persons have been detained for interrogation in connection with the incident.
