Phulbani : At least seven girls were injured, four of them seriously, as the auto-rickshaw in which they were travelling to write matriculation examination overturned in Kandhamal district today.

The accident took place as the three-wheeler driver failed to negotiate a curve near Bujulimendi village when the girls were travelling from Tikabali to their examination centre at Sankarakhole, they said.

The injured were first admitted to Sankarakhole Primary Health Centre (PHC) and later shifted to the District Headquarter hospital as their condition deteriorated, police said.
