Daringbadi is a hill station in Kandhmal district of Odisha . Situated at a height of 3000 ft It is known as “Kashmir of Odisha” and is a major tourist destination of the state.Back in the days of the British rule, there was a British officer named Daring Saheb who was in charge of this place so the name of the place become Daringbadi.
The Met Centre also issued yellow warning for cold wave conditions over the districts of Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Bolangir, Sonepur, Sundargarh and Keonjhar tomorrow.
Due to the severe cold wave, normal life has been adversely affected in Kandhamal district.
It may be mentioned here that this is the second time that Bhubaneswar has recorded 10 degree Celsius in the last three days. With this, the Capital City has recorded the fourth-lowest December temperature in the last 11 years.
Daringbadi in Kandhamal district witnessed biting cold conditions after mercury plummeted to 4 degree Celsius, throwing normal life out of gear.
The places that recorded 20 degree Celsius or below are-- Malkangiri (15.5), Angul (16), Hirakud (16.2), Nayagarh (16.5), Sambalpur (16.7), Chandbali (16.8), Baripada (16.8), Talcher (17), Balasore (17.6), Sundargarh (18.5), Paradip (19.2), Gopalpur (19.6) and Puri (20).
