Keonjhar: In a bizarre incident, a Block Development Officer (BDO) was attacked brutally by two youths at his office in Hatadihi of Keonjhar district on Monday. The officer, who sustained injuries on his face and hands, has been admitted to hospital. The reason of the attack has not yet been established, police said.
The incident took place when the BDO was in the office at 11 am while two local youths, Jhunu and Kalia Rout, ensued an altercation with him over some trivial matter. When the confrontation became serious, the irate youths, who went there prepared, stabbed the administrator with a dagger leaving him critically injured.
He was rushed to Hatadihi health center and later shifted to Bhadrak district headquarters hospital. On the other hand, police have detained the accused duo and are interrogating them to ascertain the cause of the attack.
