Bhubaneswar: Barely two months after the murder case of lady teacher Alakananda in Cuttack, another similar case involving a lady this time too has left the commissionerate police on tenterhooks.

The incident took place at the Sabar Sahi of Rasulgarh area where the police recovered the body of Bachchansuddha Pattnaik (55) from her house with multiple head injuries. She was rushed to the capital hospital with blood oozing out of her head where doctors declared her brought dead.

Sources said, the deceased was brutally killed by miscreants while she was at her home.  Police too suspect the hands of outsiders in the death of Pattnaik who was managing Madhucon Finance Company.

“The incident happened around noon and prime facie we are suspecting it a clear case of murder involving hardened criminals,” an investigating official said on condition of anonymity.

Though the exact cause behind the incident is yet to be ascertained, police have ruled out business rivalry since husband of the deceased is the dealer of a tractor company in Bhubaneswar.

Besides, the seizure of a mobile and a handbag reportedly used by the deceased, and a blood-stained t-shirt from a nearby drain are believed to have given police vital clues to crack the case.

“We are still in search of more clues,” stated the official.

Meanwhile, the statement of Madhucharan Patnaik, husband of the deceased has given the story a different twist.

“We completely suspect the involvement of the security guard who was in first shift,” Madhucharan said.

Police said, the security guard is absconding and they are trying to trace him.
