Bhubaneswar: The managing committee of Sri Jagannath Temple Administration which approved the shrine’s 2013-14 annual budget of Rs 143.40 crore on Thursday has earmarked Rs 26.94 crore for temple security. 
 
While an estimated Rs 25 crore has been proposed for Nabakalebar in 2015, Rs 2.60 crore will be spent for this year’s annual Car Festival.
 
“We’ll send some proposals to the state as well as the Centre for approval for the ensuing Nabakalebar in which we’ll take up few measures for smooth functioning of the festival,” the temple’s chief administrator Arvind Padhee told media persons. 
 
The temple administration also plans for a new one-way traffic management system to ensure smooth traffic flow around the 12th century Hindu shrine during the grand celebration.
 
For the year 2013-14, the finance sub-committee expects earnings of Rs 47.47 crore from land revenue of the deities and Rs 49.20 crore as grant. Similarly it estimates collection of Rs 14.36 crore from temple revenue and Rs 26.53 crore from heads of other revenues.
 
On the other hand, the budget which earmarks Rs 5.16 crore for the welfare of sevayats, aims to spend Rs 6.19 crore on rituals of the deities, Rs 1.30 on administration, Rs 60.63 on works and Rs 17.63 on establishment of the temple.
 
This year corpse fund of the temple has reached Rs 202 crore, informed Padhee.
 
For 2012-13, the temple managing committee had approved the shrine's annual budget of Rs 78.37 crore which was nearly Rs 19 crore more than the 2011-12 budget.
