Woman Maoist surrenders

Bhubaneswar: A female Maoist Jambu Mandingi alias Walisi who had two lakh rupees award on her head surrendered on Saturday before Inspector General of Police (south-western range) Yashwant Jethwa.

According to Jethwa, the surrendered naxalite was a member of the third Central Regional Committee (CRC) of the Maoist organisation.

“Walisi was Working under Maoist leader Suresh and has been on the most wanted list for the past few years," said the official.

Sources said she was also a member of the Srikakulam Koraput Joint Divisional Committee of outlawed CPI (Maoist) organisation.
