Cuttack: In a bizarre incident, three members of criminal gang were killed in retaliation of similar group over long standing land dispute at Safipur village under Kandarpur police station in Cuttack district on Friday.
"Land dispute led to the crime. The deceased have been identified. Investigation is in progress", DCP Sanjiv Arora said.
The three victims- Dipak Ojha, Ranjit Beura and Sanjay Swain- who were in the criminal list of police, had a long standing land related business dispute which ended in a bloody battle today.
According to police, an altercation was ensued between two groups yesterday which converted into a clash today.
However, police have arrested one of the accused while three others are still at large. The statements of the deceased and accused families with their neighbors have been recorded, police said.
