Bhubaneswar: Suspended BJD MLA Pravat Tripathy had taken Rs 42 lakh cash from Pradeep Sethy, chief of Artha Tatwa (AT) group, to patronize the illegal money circulation business of the ponzi firm, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) said in its preliminary chargesheet.

Tripathy had helped Artha Tatwa Multipurpose Co-operative Society Ltd to be registered under the Assistant Registrar of Co-operative Societies within a short period of time, the chargesheet added.

Even in getting the Best Youth Cooperator Award, instituted by the Odish Cooperative Union, for Sethy, the chargesheet saw Banki legislator’s role as AT did not have any major contribution and achievement within 15 days of its registration.

In a later stage, Sethy had won the trust of depositors and asked them to invest in his company, the chargesheet added.

Besides, Tripathy had asked Sethy to finance Banki Mahostav and an audio CD regarding this took rounds in the media. The voice of the Banki MLA in the CD is authentic as per CFSL report, the report added.
