Cuttack: The state vigilance directorate today submitted a preliminary inquiry report to the Orissa High Court on the basis of which a corruption case was registered against the former Odisha DGP Prakash Mishra who is now serving as the Director General of CRPF.

The inquiry report was submitted in a sealed cover and the matter would be further adjudicated on Thursday.

Mishra had moved the High Court seeking to quash the FIR and to stop the criminal proceedings against him, terming the motive behind the filing of the FIR was ?oblique?.

The vigilance directorate has already argued the case stating that the FIR was necessary to initiate investigation as during Mishra?s tenure as CMD of Odisha Police Housing and Welfare Corporation between 2006 and 2009, alleged financial irregularities were noticed causing a pecuniary loss of Rs 7.27 cr to the state exchequer.
