Bhubaneswar: Odisha government has started preparations for beautification Atharanala bridge in Puri ahead of Nabakalebara in 2015, said sources.
A meeting chaired by Tourism minister Ashok Panda held at State Secretariat here and discussed how development work can be done around the water body, setting up of open theatre, parking lot and foot path and lighting of the bridge.
The beautification and development work will be done by the Water Resources department’s Drainage Division, sources added.
For the work the Central government has sanctioned Rs 4.75 crore of which Rs 95 lakh has already been given to the state government, they added.
Among others Puri MLA Maheswar Mohanty, District Collector and Tourism Secretary were also present in the meeting.
