Bhubaneswar: In the last 24 hours, Odisha reported 372 fresh Covid-19 cases taking the total tally to 3,26,233 on Sunday. Of the fresh cases, 214 are from quarantine and 158 are local contact cases, informed Information & Public Relations Department.

Angul registered the highest 50 cases followed by Sundargarh (47), Khordha (38), Cuttack (26) and Mayurbhanj (24). According to I&PR data, all other districts reported less than 20 cases in the past 24 hours.

As per State Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) Department, the death toll jumped to 1836 with four more fatalities in the last 24 hours. One death each was reported from Khordha, Mayurbhanj, Sambalpur and Sundargarh.

The health department has also shared the details of the Covid-19 patients who succumbed while under treatment at hospitals during the period.

A 75-year-old male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Diabetes and Coronary Artery Disease.

An 86-year-old male of Mayurbhanj district who was also suffering from Hypertension, Benign prostatic hyperplasia and Lower Respiratory Tract Infections.

A 62-year-old female of Sambalpur district who was also suffering from Hypertension.

A 53-year-old female of Sundargarh district who was also suffering from Diabetes.

A total of 34,334 samples were tested in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative tests to 66,03,613 in Odisha. After today’s surge, the State’s active caseload stood at 3,035 while 3,21,309 patients have so far recovered from the infection.
