‘Dead’ Man Returns Home After Nine Years In Odisha

Berhampur: A 30-year-old man, presumed to be dead, returned home on Saturday to learn that his family has already conducted his post-death rituals.

The shocking incident has been reported from Hinjili area of Ganjam district. Anil Muni, son of Laxman Muni of Ward No 1 of Hinjili, returned home yesterday after remaining untraceable for the last nine years.

According to family sources, Anil had left home in 2010, and since then no one was aware of his whereabouts. Though his family members launched a frantic search, they could not trace him.

Later, they heard about Anil’s death and hence, conducted his post-death rituals.

“After getting the news of his death, we consulted with our relatives and conducted his post-death rituals. He returned home yesterday night. Now, we are very happy,” said Akshay Muni, elder brother of Anil.
