Rourkela: After being on the run for nearly four months, Rourkela police detained Biswajit Mallik for allegedly blackmailing and selling off two girls in Saudi Arabia for Rs 25 lakh.

Sources said Mallik was nabbed from Kendrapara by a team of Raghunathpalli police and is being further interrogated in this connection.

Mallik is accused of selling two girls of Sundergarh to a broker in Saudi Arabia for Rs 25 lakh after blackmailing them with the help of sex video.

The matter had come to light after one of the girls managed to escape and sought help from Indian embassy in December last year.

According to reports, Biswajit had called the two girls on the pretext of providing jobs abroad and kept them in a hotel.

Biswajit allegedly raped the girls and recorded a video of the whole incident with the help of another person, who is now absconding.
