Puri: Forest officials with the help of local residents rescued a spotted deer from Krushnasaranpur village under Brahmagiri forest range of Puri district today.

Sources said locals of the village detected the deer while it was entering human settlement through a nullah nearby the area and immediately informed the forest department officials.

A team led by Range Officer, Debaraj Jali rushed to the spot and rescued the animal and brought it to the range office.

"We received a call at around 5 AM from the locals and found the animal straying into the village. It will be treated for some minor injury to one of its legs and once it completely recovers, we will release it into the jungle," Jali said.
