Santanu Patra suicide: Wife along with her ‘lover’ interrogated
Puri: Two days after Santanu Patra committed suicide at his village in Puri district minutes after going live on Facebook alleging wife’s infidelity, Puri police today interrogated his wife and another person claimed to be her lover in connection with the case.
However, Patra’s wife refuted the allegations saying that she had been deceived by her in-laws.
“They (Santanu’s family) had deceived me by saying that their son was a software engineer whereas in reality he was working as a security guard in a software company. I came to know the truth when I marked his shoes and uniform while staying with him in Bengaluru,” she said.
Refuting that she has no role in her husband’s suicide, she said “Why all the blame is being put on me. I also want that the real culprit be punished through proper investigation” she said.
“If I have done anything wrong, then I am ready to face the consequences. Even the person who is being attributed as my lover and alleged of sending obscene photos of me to my husband should also be brought into the purview of investigation. I have lodged an FIR and told the police all that I know,” she added.
On November 9, Santanu Patra, an engineer working in an IT firm in Bengaluru shot a 15-minute video late on Wednesday night in which he accused his wife of having an extramarital affair.
In the video, the techie said that his wife’s illicit affair has destroyed his life and image in society. Santanu also alleged that his wife’s family members were mentally torturing him after he discovered his wife’s infidelity.
