Odia cine producer charged with sexually exploiting actress

Bhubaneswar: Police today registered a complaint against an Odia film producer for allegedly exploiting an actress on pretext of casting her in an upcoming film.

As per information, after registering an FIR from the victim, Mahila police recorded her statement under Section 161 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) and have also conducted a medical examination.

The victim in her complaint has stated that she had been staying at the house of Odia movie producer Pramod Swain, for past few months and the latter had been sexually exploiting her since then on promise of giving her roles in films.

On the other hand after the complaint, the accused producer is said to have been absconding.

Meanwhile, police said that the accused will be issued a notice.

“A case has been registered in the Mahila Police Station and investigation has commenced. Action will be taken as per the CrPC provisions,” twin city Police Commissioner YB Khurania said.
