Cuttack: Taking the legacy of Ravenshaw University ahead with the changing times will be the top priority including its all round development, said Prof Ishan Patro, who was appointed as the new vice-chancellor here on Saturday.

Chancellor and Odisha Governor SC Jamir appointed Patro to head the premier educational institution in Cuttack. At present, Patro is working as professor Zoology in Jiwaji University, Madhya Pradesh.

In an exclusive interview to OTV, Patro stated that concerted efforts will be made to groom students for jobs, bringing in more placements, innovative teaching and all round development of the university.

" Ravenshaw University is only 10 years young but considered a premier educational hub. We will work for improving it in all aspects," said Patro.

Patro further stated that steps will be taken for development of the second campus of Ravenshaw University into a world class centre of excellence and bringing in more good faculty for teaching and research purposes.
