Bhubaneswar: Three days after Nayagarh Congress president Hemendra Singh deserted the party, former minister and senior Congress leader RamakrushanaPatnaik and his wife Kumudini, a former MP, resigned from the party expressing displeasure against party activities and the state leadership. However, the leader couple has not decided to join any other party.
A five-time legislator of the party, Ramakrishna had held the portfolios of finance and other important departments during his tenure.
He was elected to the Odisha Assembly five times from the Kodala constituency of Ganjam district. Similarly, his wife was elected to parliament on a Congress ticket.
