Bhubaneswar: Barring only two Assembly seats--Patkura and Niali, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today announced its 6th list of candidates containing 15 of remaining 17 seats for Assembly polls while denying tickets to seven sitting MLAs including top leader Raghunath Mohanty.
A former law minister and ex-BJD vice-president Mohanty, who was named in the alleged dowry torture case lodged by his daughter-in-law Barsha Swony Choudhury, has been replaced by Nityananda Sahu from Basta segment this time.
Stand up comedian of Odia film industry Papu Pom Pom alias Tatwa Prakash Satpathy, who had joined the ruling party last year, has become the party candidate from Champua constituency while sitting independent MLA Jitu Patnaik, who had joined BJD recently during Rajya Sabha elections, was denied ticket. Similarly, the party didn’t give a second chance to sitting MLA from Jatni Bibhuti Balabantray to contest this time.
Bhagirathi Badajena, the sitting legislator from Bhubaneswar (North), has been nominated to contest from Jatani while new face Priyadarshi Mishra has been named to be the party candidate from the Bhubaneswar (North) segment.

Sipra Mallik, Bhagirathi Sethy, Raghunath Mohanty, Bibhti Balabantrai, Subarna Nayak, Premananda Nayak, Rajendra Das.
