Google has been enhancing its messaging app, Google Messages, by introducing new features. One such feature being tested is animated emojis.

These emojis add motion to the regular static emojis we are familiar with.

Adding Life to Emojis

Google is currently testing animated emojis in its messaging app, as reported by Android Police.

Unlike static emojis, these animated versions add motion to the conversation.

For example, a heart emoji will pulsate when sent individually, bringing a livelier element. However, there is a limitation to note.

The animations only apply to single emojis and will not appear if you include text with the emoji or send multiple emojis in the chat.

Similar to WhatsApp

Google Messages' animated emojis concept is similar to how animated emojis work in WhatsApp.

In WhatsApp, a single heart emoji beats rhythmically, but if you add text or send multiple heart emojis, the animations do not activate.

This similarity suggests that tech companies are actively seeking innovative ways to improve user engagement and self-expression on messaging platforms.
