India star batsman Sanju Samson has created history after scoring an impressive century against South Africa. No other Indian batsman except Sourav Ganguly and Virat Kohli has ever scored a century in South Africa.

Sanju Samson has accomplished a rare feat, scoring an ODI century at no. 3 for India. His fine century ensured India’s win by 78 runs in the third ODI to clinch the three-match series 2-1 on Thursday. However, it was Sanju Samson’s sweet gesture for India captain Rohit Sharma that caught everyone’s attention.

Instead of aggressive celebration after his ton, Samson flexed his muscles and celebrated like Rohit Sharma, as a tribute to the Hitman. Earlier, during a match, Rohit Sharma had flexed his muscles after an umpire enquired the reason of his massive sixes. Now, Sanju’s sweet gesture for Rohit Sharma who has been dropped as captain of Mumbai Indians (MI) has won the hearts of fans.

Congratulatory messages have been pouring in for Samson on achieving his maiden international century. He is also the first cricketer from Kerala to score a century for India in ODI.

Batting legend Sunil Gavaskar heaped praises on Sanju Samson and said, “The standout for me from this innings was his shot selection. In the past, he has gotten out despite getting starts. Today, you couldn’t fault him at all, he was bidding his time, waiting for the bad ball, and then getting a hundred. I think this hundred is going to change his career. He will get more opportunities because of his hundred.”
