Former South African great Lance Klusener has heaped massive praise on Team India pace bowling all-rounder Hardik Pandya. The former Proteas all-rounder also termed Pandya as one of the best pace bowling all-rounders in world cricket.

“Pandya is a fantastic cricketer. If he can stay fit and continue to bowl 135+ kmph, he will always be challenging. He is one of the best all-rounders in the world,” said Klusener during a media interaction.

Pandya had ruled himself out of the World Test Championship (WTC) Final, to be played against formidable Australia at the Oval starting from June 7, by saying that it would not be ethical to take someone’s place without even contributing one per cent in India’s journey to the all-important game.

However, the former South African explosive all-rounder feels that Pandya possibly gave up on Test cricket a bit too easily to manage his workload.

“Possibly, Pandya gave up on Test cricket a bit too easily to manage his workload. Test cricket is always the pinnacle of testing where you are as a cricketer, and testing yourselves. Test cricket has not really changed much from way back but I also understand that times have moved on as well,” said Klusner.

As per the former South Africa cricketer, a fast-bowling all-rounder is not a ‘dibbly-dobbler’, but someone who can clock 135kph consistently. The former all-rounder also believes that India are well equipped to field a pace or spin-heavy lineup to give a tough challenge to Australia in the upcoming WTC final.
