Under the leadership of Australian batter David Warner, Delhi Capitals (DC) had a slugging start to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Though they have improved over the last few games by winning four of their last five games, they still have a huge task ahead of themselves.

With just four victories from 10 games, DC are placed at the bottom of the 10-team points table. They need to win all four of their remaining games in the league stage of the campaign if they are to finish among the top four sides at the end of the league stage and qualify for the playoffs.

If they manage to win their remaining matches, they will have 16 points in the kitty with a total of eight wins. However, it may not be enough in their play-off aspirations. Moreover, DC will also need some of the other results from the campaign to fall in their favour.

Some of DC’s matches are against high scoring teams like Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Punjab Kings. Hence, it will be a herculean task for the Warner-led team to emerge victorious in all of their upcoming matches. They also have to beat those teams with higher margins to improve their run rate to be in the playoff race.

CSK and Gujarat Titans are looking certain to make it to the top four. However, there will be a tough competition for the teams in the lower half to grab the remaining two positions.
