Since last two days, one person who has been grabbing the headlines is India’s Hitman Rohit Sharma. The star batter has been grabbing all the attention after he was replaced by Hardik Pandya as the Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper.

The India captain had led Mumbai Indians for the last 11 years and helped the franchise to lift 5 IPL trophies. He rose MI to be one of the strongest ever teams in the IPL. The announcement of Hardik Pandya as Rohit’s replacement has not gone well with cricket fans.

Angry fans are flooding X, formerly known as Twitter, with several memes, jokes, and angry posts over Rohit’s removal. #ShameOnMI has been trending on X with fans bluntly trolling Hardik Pandya for taking up the captaincy.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma’s wife Ritika Sajdeh has finally opened up about the change of captaincy. It came on a social media post from Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

As a tribute to Rohit Sharma, CSK took to Instagram and wrote, “2013-2023: A decade of spirited challenge! Much respect, Rohit!!”.

To CSK’s post, Ritika Sajdeh reacted with a yellow-coloured heart sign. Yellow colour is associated with Chennai Super Kings, with their jersey colour also of the same hue.

However, the Hitman has maintained a dignified silence over the matter.

Earlier in a statement, Mumbai Indians said that the change in leadership was part of their future planning and thanked Rohit for his exemplary service to the franchise.
